Arkansas WPA Writers Project Records

M88-09

The Arkansas WPA provided jobs for unemployed writers during the depression, and it also gathered information for a guidebook on Arkansas, 1935-1941.
Arkansas Tourism Materials M90-05 This collection consists of various pamphlets relating to Arkansas State Park and Tourism, 1970-1996
National Forest Materials M90-13 This Collection contains pamphlets, proposals, annual reports, newspaper clippings, and brochures on the National Forest in Arkansas, 1982-1990.
Jimmy Driftwood Collection M98-02 Jimmy Driftwood was a teacher from Arkansas who wrote a song to help his students remember the facts on the Battle of New Orleans.  This song was picked up by Johnny Horton and Jimmy Driftwood received a Grammy Award for his song.  He was an educator, folklorist, and Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter.
Michael Rapp Papers M99-09 A professor of chemistry at UCA from 1968-1999, Michael Rapp papers contains material over canoeing, travel, correspondence, Arkansas Science Teacher Association, and  a research paper for NASA.
