             This collection contains research papers and notes compiled by Dr. Foy Lisenby of Conway, Arkansas.  Until his retirement in 1994, Dr. Lisenby was professor of history at the University of Central Arkansas.

            A native of Tennessee, Lisenby received his Ph.D. degree from Vanderbilt in 1962.  He joined the faculty at Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) the same year.  In 1994, Lisenby published a biography of former Arkansas Governor Charles Hillman Brough (University of Arkansas Press).  Dr. Lisenby also conducted considerable research on the history of Arkansas’ image problem.
