Frank Williamson Papers
M92-05
This collection contains the papers, correspondence, and research notes of C. Frank Williamson concerning early Arkansas, Jefferson County, Pine Bluff, and Harrington family history. The son of C.S. Williamson, Jr. and Esther Triplett Williamson, he was born January 4, 1912, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and as a child moved to Pine Bluff.
After graduating from Pine Bluff High School, Williamson attended the University of Virginia, graduating in 1933. He practiced law for six years with his uncle, Arthur Triplett, before getting a job as a special agent with the FBI, a position he held for ten years. Following his employment with the FBI, he worked as a civilian comptroller at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and later managed and co-owned Central Pharmacy in Pine Bluff with his brother Sam, retiring in 1966.
Always having an avid interest in Jefferson County history, Williamson has, since his retirement, served as president of the Pine Bluff- Jefferson County Historical Society, chairman of the commission to establish the Jefferson County Historical Museum, chairman of the La Salle Tri centennial Commission, chairman of the Jefferson County Bi centennial Celebration, and chairman of the Jefferson County Library Board of Trustees.
Williamson married the former Nancy Ryland in 1940. They are the parents of C. Frank Williamson, Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Esther Anne Koskinen of Grafton, Massachusetts, and Martha Ryland Rimmer of Little Rock, Arkansas. He and his wife reside in Pine Bluff.
