MID-SOUTHERN WATERCOLORISTS RECORDS

M89-05

This collection contains the records of Mid-Southern Watercolorists, which was formed in Little Rock in 1970, in order to bring together watercolorists from throughout the south.  They also want to help educate the public about watercolor’s significance as a creative medium.  Some of MSW's founders and first officers were Doris Williamson-Mapes, Bruce Anderson, and Josephine Graham.  Through the years, MSW's many projects such as its workshops and exhibitions have brought not only many famous watercolorists to Arkansas, but also brought recognition to many Arkansas artists.  The organization's commitment to bringing the arts closer to the public is one of the main reasons that MSW is still functional.

MSW's records consist of administrative reports, exhibition and workshop materials, organization newsletters, photographs, and scrapbooks.  It also contains some biographical information on some of the members who have belonged to the organization through the years.

Note: When requesting materials, please specify collection number (M89-5), box number, and file number.
