Arkansas Sociological and Anthropological Association Records

The records of the Arkansas Sociological and Anthropological Association (ASAA) consists of 17 years of annual meeting programs, minutes, presidential addresses, and copies of its newsletter, The Social Exchange. The ASAA is and active organization whose purpose is to “provide the highest level of college education in… Arkansas and to further knowledge of he discipline as a whole…” This association was formed in 1971 as the Arkansas Sociological Association (ASA). In 1986, the name was changed to the Arkansas Sociological and Anthropological Association. Membership is open to teachers and students of sociology, anthropology, and/or related subjects. The officers of the ASAA are elected by the membership and serve one year terms.
